PANORAMIC “Käsnudl Tour”

“I was really surprised”, Monica told us, “after saying “Griaß Gott (meaning nice to meet you in Carinthian dialect) the farmer’s wife took us straight to her kitchen. There, she explained to us how to produce curd cheese and then we had to knead. That’s what you have to do when you want to make “Kärntner Käsnudl” a typical Carinthian dish, similar to ravioli in form and terms of pastry.” While the “Käsnudl” are cooking we go for a nice walk to the Rupertiberg, providing a breathtaking view of the Rosental, the valley and the Karawanken, the mountain range on the border to Slovenia and Italy with one of its most impressive peaks, the Mittagskogel, and then to the Luzia’s Church.

ALPS-ADRIATIC 3-COUNTRIES TOUR

The panoramic view was fantastic, but everything is hurting after this long trip, complained Heinz. This is definitely the truth because it takes a day to discover 3 lakes in 3 countries crossing 3 mountain passes. Well then? This tour takes you through the three countries that meet here – Austria, Italy and Slovenia – giving you an impression of the exceptional scenic beauty. Don’t forget your camera. First, the coach takes you to Kransjka Gora, Slovenia’s most famous ski resort going over the Wurzen Pass and passing Lake Jasna. The route over Slovenia’s highest pass, the Vrsic Pass with its 50 road bends, is breathtaking. During a short stop we have time to visit the Russian Chapel dating back to WW I. Then we take short walk to the source of the River Soca – about 20 minutes on foot (a good head for heights and climbing boots are essential). The river Soca is well known not only in Slovenia for its unique emerald colour. Our next stop is the Flitscher Klause and then, going over the Predil Pass passing the lake of the same name we reach Italy. We spend another hour in Tarvisio which is well known for it’s of the leather market.

SIGHTSEEING INCLUDED

The Wörthersee Card is nothing for “couch potatoes”. They should rather spend their holidays somewhere else because with the Wörthersee Card you can’t just stay at home. More than 100 tourist attractions, and that’s the truth, can be visited across all Carinthia with this card. From April till October!

With the Wörthersee Card you can visit more than 100 tourist attractions free of charge across the whole of Carinthia. And that as often as you want!

Enjoy boat trips on Lake Wörthersee, Lake Millstättersee, Lake Ossiachersee or on the River Drau as they are included free of charge, and as often as you want to, during your holiday.

Mountain railways, i.e. the panoramic cable car up to the Gerlitzen mountain, can also be used free of charge.

SWIMMING INCLUDED

Go bathing in Lake Wörthersee instead of taking a shower at home! Why? Because it simply is free of charge, from Monday to Saturday, for everybody, on the following beaches around Lake Wörthersee:

Please note: The water temperature in summer is between 25 and 26 °C.

TRAVELLING INCLUDED

Go wherever you want. The Wörthersee Card gives you additional benefits even in this case. Travelling by bus or train might be reduced by up to 50 %. Furthermore, you can rent a bike once for free.

For each of these sports and leisure time facilities you will receive a reduction of up to 30 %. Please make sure you know the usual opening hours and free allowances.
