MENSHHEITSDÄMMERUNG Painting of the Interwar Period 1918-1938 and Reflections of the Present Day from the collections of the Leopold Museum Vienna and the Art Collection of the Province of Carinthia/MMKK

The exhibition, which can be seen at the Museum Moderner Kunst Kärnten and the kärnten.museum, is curated by the MMKK and organised and financed in cooperation with the kärnten.museum. It is based on a selection of eleven painterly positions of the interwar period, which the Leopold Museum Vienna presented from its own holdings in the exhibition of the same name in 2021. These contents will be taken over to Carinthia, expanded by works from the MMKK art collection and arranged in discursive juxtaposition to form a new show that will deepen the examination of interwar painting in various thematic areas relating to man and his existence.
