On side roads through the former center of Carinthia. In the Middle Ages, Karnburg was the center of Carantania, today's Carinthia. More than 2000 years ago, the Magdalensberg formed the political, economic and cultural center of the Noric kingdom and was later also an important Roman settlement. Today, one of the largest Roman excavation sites in the Eastern Alps is located on the 1054 m high Magdalensberg.
