A Midsummer Night's Dream Children's Concert / Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
There's a lot going on in William Shakespeare's most famous play, A Midsummer Night's Dream! It tells the stories of three pairs of lovers and a troupe of craftsmen who want to try their hand at acting. And as if love wasn't complicated enough, the feelings of the couples and the actors are further confused by the elves in the enchanted forest. Soon the question arises: who actually loves whom? And who is enchanted and who is not? Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy composed his incidental music for Shakespeare's Elfenreigen on a balmy summer night, which captures the action in catchy musical images that delight young and old alike. The popular actress Heike Kretschmer guides the young and old visitors through this brilliantly hopeless confusion and the mysterious sounds of Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
