Through the Tscheppa Gorge to Bodental

The hike through the wild and romantic gorge impressively presents the elemental force of water and is particularly recommended on a hot day. As you ascend via paths, ladders and bridges, your breathing rate and excitement increase. The impressive spiral staircase, the spectacular suspension bridge and the thundering Tschaukofall with its rock gate are the high points along the way. The hike comes to a leisurely end in the Loibl or Bodental valleys.
There are several gratings along the way, which dogs are reluctant or unable to enter. It is sometimes necessary to carry dogs over these areas. The path is also steep and narrow in places, which can make it difficult to walk with dogs!

Coming from Klagenfurt on the federal road B 91 to Unterloibl, after approx. 300 m you will find the paid parking lot on the right side.

Directions
From the parking lot at 580 m above sea level over the overpass past the forest rope park, steeply down to the Loiblbach stream. Now follow the gravel road upstream to the Goldenen Bründl. Here the entrance fee is collected.
Continue along the road and then on partly secured gorge trail over steps, ladders and galleries through the gorge. After about an hour at the confluence of the Bodenbach into the Loiblbach, the path forks:
- On the one hand, the path leads up to unique natural spectacles such as Tschaukofall and Felsentor. Through the rock gate through and then either direction Windisch Bleiberg, Bodental. After about 1 hour you reach the inns in Windisch Bleiberg and Bodental. From here bus transfer to the Tscheppaschlucht parking lot (see timetable) or in about 1/2 hour to the Gasthof Deutscher Peter.
- On the other hand, you descend briefly and follow the Loiblbach further upstream over bridges. Via a beautiful path directly along the water you reach the Gasthof Deutscher Peter with bus stop in a good half hour.
