The Penkensee loop is set against a magnificent natural backdrop. From Schiefling municipal office along Keutschacher Straße to the Taubenkogelweg junction. A wooden bridge leads over the marshland, where the moorland rest area invites you to rest and relax. The route continues uphill on natural ground to the small Penkensee lake and then through the village of Penken. The Gasthof Ferm offers a refreshment stop. From there, the route leads in the direction of Schiefling past the sports center back to the municipal office.

Directions
Along the RA 4 cycle path for approx. 1 km to the Taubenkogelweg junction. At the end of the path, a wooden bridge crosses the marshland. The bog rest area invites you to linger and rest. Information boards provide information about the natural features of the area. The Rakouzamoor in the Four Lakes Valley has been awarded the Ramsar label and has thus been designated a "wetland of international importance". The structure of the wetlands provides an already rare habitat for numerous endangered animal and plant species.
After crossing the marshland - turn left at the crossroads to the next crossroads - approx. 1 km - then right again through an extensive marshland landscape. At the beginning of the forest, trail no. 28 leads uphill to the idyllic Penkensee lake. Continue through the village of Penken - along the Pleierweg to the Penkenstraße junction - left - to Gasthof Ferm (refreshments available). From Gasthof Ferm to the Kramer Johann junction - the trail heads back towards Schiefling via the Kuran (through the forest) - no. 37 to the sports tower - from there back to the municipal parking lot
