This panoramic walk impresses with close and distant views of the Ressnig swimming lake, the pilgrimage church of Maria Rain, Hollenburg Castle and the bizarre Karawanken mountains.
The southernmost town in Austria, Ferlach, is full of hidden treasures and strong contrasts. The town, steeped in history, is world-famous for its artistic hunting rifles. In the surrounding countryside, hidden natural gems will delight you: Here on the Drau River, for example, pristine alluvial landscapes and a panoramic reservoir surprise visitors.
In the heart of the Karawanken, on the other hand, the fairy-tale Bodental valley and the imposing Koschuta massif are enchanting.

Directions
A short walk through the Drau floodplain takes you to the Ferlach-Maria Rain river power station. From there, you take a breezy stroll along the high embankment of the natural Drau reservoir: a magnificent panoramic balcony in the heart of the Rose Valley! Later, the popular local recreation area "Badesee Reßnig" invites you to linger. Return along the asphalt road next to the Au river.
