"Rübenfest" in Keutschach

The Pyramidenkogel community of Keutschach am See has a white turnip in its coat of arms in memory of the former noble family of the Lords of Keutschach. In order to symbolically pay appropriate tribute to this, the first turnip festival was held in 2016, which immediately enjoyed enormous popularity. The event takes place around the castle grounds. The date for it is annually the time around October 26. In 2021, the Beet Festival will be held from October 23 to 24.

This autumnal event offers "everything about the beet", especially in culinary terms. Producers, restaurateurs and associations from the region as well as from the friendly municipalities in Slovenia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia will offer a wide range of tasty dishes and drinks, most of which will feature the popular vegetable.

Around the castle there are more than two dozen stalls selling all kinds of products. There is a show smith museum, handmade pottery from the lake valley Keutschach and a funny face painting for children. A lottery also promises excitement. In addition, there will be a variety of musical and dance performances, with children taking center stage on Saturday.
