Michael Thode, born in 1974 in Heide/Holstein, is a lawyer and specialist journalist. In addition to his work as an author, he regularly brings his military experience as a reserve colonel into the Bundeswehr, among other roles at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin. He lives with his wife and an energetic Gordon Setter near Hamburg. There, he writes thrillers and short crime stories.

The Ferlach Castle was built in the 16th century and was the venue for the Carinthian State Exhibition “Everything Hunting – a Cultural History” in 1997. Today, it houses the Gunsmith and Hunting Museum with the special exhibition “Myth of Hunting – Horten Collection”.
