The Penkensee loop takes you through magnificent natural scenery. From the Schiefling municipal office along Keutschacher Straße to the Taubenkogelweg turnoff. A wooden bridge leads across the marshland, where the moor rest area invites you to rest and take a break. On natural ground, the trail goes uphill to the small Penkensee lake and then through the village of Penken. A stop for refreshments is offered by the Gasthof Ferm. From there the route leads in the direction of Schiefling past the sports center back to the municipal office.

Along the RA 4 -cycle path for about 1 km to the junction Taubenkogelweg. At the end of the trail, a wooden bridge leads across the marsh. The moor rest area invites you to stay and rest. Information boards inform about the natural history features of the area. The Rakouzamoor in the Four Lakes Valley has received the Ramsar designation and was thus distinguished as a "wetland of international importance". The structure of the wetlands provides an already rare habitat for numerous endangered animal and plant species.
After crossing the marshland - at the crossroads turn left to the next crossroads - about 1 km - then turn right again through an extensive marshland. At the beginning of the forest, the trail with the No. 28 leads uphill to the idyllically situated Penkensee. Continue through the village of Penken - along the Pleierweg to the Penkenstraße turnoff - left - to Gasthof Ferm (refreshment stop). From Gasthof Ferm to the turnoff Kramer Johann - the path goes again in the direction of Schiefling over the Kuran (through the forest) - No. 37 to the sports tower - from there back to the municipal parking lot.
