Free lake access at the Wörthersee

1) Friedelstrand is mysteriously hidden behind a hedge. The slightly floating jetty is located directly between the Albatros rowing club and the shipyard.

On a meadow of about 150 m2 there is a nice lake access, where runners, cyclists and skaters can find a spontaneous refreshment in the turquoise water.

2) The Koschat Park in Krumpendorf is a small gap over which the brave can venture into the water. Swimming is officially prohibited in this area, but eager ones skillfully take advantage of this opportunity.

3) Also in Pörtschach you can venture into the water at free bathing spots. The Edelweißbad, is located directly on the main road and is a protected lake bed. This is provided by the Federal Forests. Unfortunately, there are almost no parking facilities here. Idyllically situated below the railroad line, there is a narrow bathing strip in Pörtschach-Pritschitz. The best way to reach it is by bike or on foot. Not far away is the open-air swimming pool Sallach, which is free of charge - also an insider tip. Here, in addition to the perfect sundowner, a small jetty, sanitary facilities and a small, fine restaurant await you.

4) "The liana" on the south shore road is not only the perfect photo motif, but also an insider tip for free swimming. Between Reifnitz and Seekirn, particularly brave people can treat themselves to a special way to cool off: namely, swinging over the shore on a liana-like rope and plunging into the (fairly) deep water - which is extremely cool! It is also amusing to watch the others doing this - belly flops are guaranteed here.

5) The particularly romantic place with the sounding name is described by many as the most beautiful spot on Lake Wörthersee. The Schamandra is located on Strandweg in Krumpendorf, where there is also a pedal boat rental and a small Beiserl with also a small menu. However, there are no limits to romance at this location.

6) The sunbathing lawn at the landing stage in Maria Wörth is really top as a free lake access. It is often overlooked and passed by. There are even deck chairs available. If you want to enjoy some art and culture before or after, you can also go to one of the two churches on the small island of Maria Wörth.
