The Nockalm Road
35 kilometres of the most beautiful landscapes imaginable The Nockberge are actually Europe’s only protected area in this range of undemanding high mountains with the largest stands of spruce, larch and pine in the Eastern Alps. The unforgettable appearance of these round-topped „Nock’n” is one of those geological rarities, and quite unique in all the Alps. The Nockalm Road serves as a gateway to this area of such exceptionally enchanting landscapes. Numerous gentle hairpin bends (referred to as „Reidn” in Carinthian dialect), the relatively minimal gradient of the road, along with delicious dining opportunities and interesting theme paths make this road wonderfully enjoyable for car drivers, motorbike riders and cyclists alike.
