instructions

From Ferlach Castle, take the Drau Cycle Path R1 in the direction of St. Margareten to the ÖDK bridge at Rottenstein. After that, several hairpin bends lead up to the Radsberg. Once at the top, the Rosental lies at your feet. The view sweeps from the Petzen over to the Karawanken, with good visibility you can see as far as the Dobratsch (Villacher Alpe). The trail continues uphill and downhill along the Sattnitz Mountains, through small villages, until finally reaching the municipality of Maria Rain. The well-known pilgrimage church in late Gothic architectural style towers high above the Drava River and from here it is not far to the starting point of this loop.
