Mountain Chapels Maria Elend
From the foot of the Karawanken, the route leads through mixed forests along the rushing Rosenbach stream to the Drau. There you accompany the mighty river along the natural embankment to the bird paradise "Drau Biotope". In the pilgrimage site of Maria Elend, the ascent begins through pine forests to the final highlight: the wondrous mountain chapels - with magnificent views!

Coming from Villach through St. Jakob, turn right after the "blue" bridge, then straight on to Tallach.
Public transportaion:
By train to Rosenbach station and by GoMobil to the starting point

Directions
The route leads from the Lindenhof at the foot of the Karawanken along the Rosenbach stream through the broad Drau plain out to the Drau river. There it follows the mighty river downstream to the Drau biotope. From the river, the route finally leads back through the Drau plain to the Karawanken, to Maria Elend. The last section is a beautiful mountain hike up to the stunning mountain chapels and down to the starting point.
