Experience a section of the famous
Hemma pilgrimage trail.Along the way, however, you should not turn your gaze only inward, otherwise you will miss the beautiful view from the vantage point Petelinz. On the way you can pay a visit to the Hemma rock in Guntschach. The hike takes you along idyllic forest paths to the beautiful pilgrimage church of Maria Rain. The Maria Rain section of the pilgrimage trail ends after a short detour through the village west of the Stifterkogel at the municipal border. Here you have to decide: Let the good Lord be a good man or continue on the pilgrimage path. Who knows, maybe you have acquired a taste for it?

Start: Ferlach
The trail leads from Ferlach to Gasthof Plasch further east down the Drava River to the Glainach overpass. After the overpass uphill to the Hemma rock, then across the provincial road to the left in the direction of Maria Rain. After a few meters, head south to the Petelinz viewpoint, then through the forest to the Maria Rain pilgrimage church. To the north the path leads through the village into the forest, climbs slightly, west past the Stifterkogel in the direction of Lambichl.
