#DerWärmsteMoment polarisiert am Wörthersee

Als einzige Kärntner Region wirbt der Wörthersee Tourismus seit mehr als 10 Jahren mit dem Pink Lake Festival um die LGBTQ Community – und startet nun mit einer gewagten Kampagne in ein ganzjähriges Gay Marketing.



Das Pink Lake LGBTQ Festival am Wörthersee ist seit mehr als 10 Jahren immer Ende August fixer Bestandteil der partywilligen Gay Community. Nachdem das Festival im vergangenen Jahr Corona-bedingt ausfallen musste, hat sich die Region dazu entschieden, ab sofort zusätzlich auf ein ganzjähriges Gay Marketing zu setzen.

 

Für die erste Kampagne holte man sich zur professionellen Begleitung die Wiener Agentur Vangardist Media sowie die deutsche Agentur SÍSÍ mit ins Boot. Beide Agenturen haben einen queeren Schwerpunkt und sind geführt von Vertretern der Gay Community. Sie entwickelten ein Gewinnspiel rund um den Hashtag #DerWärmsteMoment, mit dem ein Kurzurlaub – mit Partnerin, Partner oder im Freundeskreis – am See gewonnen werden kann. Die glücklichen Gewinnenden werden zu einem professionellen Fotoshooting eingeladen und damit zu Pink Lake-Botschaftern oder Botschafterinnen der Region.

 

Die Doppeldeutigkeit des Begriffes „warm“ als Attribut des Sees und Bezeichnung für homosexuelle Menschen wurde für die Kampagne ganz gewusst gewählt – und polarisiert aktuell in den sozialen Medien.

 

Mag. Roland Sint, GF der Wörthersee Tourismus GmbH, dazu: „Negative Kommentare kommen vorwiegend von Usern, die nicht der Gay Community angehören. Wir bekommen aber sehr viele positive Rückmeldungen von unseren queeren Followern, die wir mit der Kampagne ja schließlich für den Wörthersee begeistern wollen. Und wir freuen uns sehr darüber, dass die vielen Gewinnspielteilnehmenden schon ganz tolle Beiträge auf Instagram gepostet haben.“ 

 

Claudius Desanti und Sven Tomschin, Inhaber der Agentur SÍSÍ, möchten „mit einem Augenzwinkern und großem Respekt für die Community eine ehemals abwertende Bedeutung des Wortes „warm“ neu besetzen. Vorbild ist für uns hier auch die Gay Community, die z.B. das Wort „schwul“ von einer ursprünglich negativen zu einer stolzen positiven Selbstbezeichnung umgewandelt hat“.

 

Auch wenn der Wörthersee Tourismus einige negative Kritik einstecken muss, sieht sich GF Mag. Sint in seinem Vorgehen bestätigt: „Wir sind stolz darauf, als einzige Kärntner Region mit unserem Gay Marketing schon viel in Sachen Akzeptanz erreicht zu haben und machen mit der aktuellen Kampagne abermals auf dieses so wichtige Thema aufmerksam. Dennoch gibt es hier offensichtlich noch viel zu tun. Wir machen jedenfalls gerne weiter.“.
