For this route, you need enough strength in your calves or an appropriate battery. There are more than 1100 meters of altitude difference from the center of Ferlach, before you reach the top of the Klagenfurt Hut, in the middle of the bizarre Karawanken.
The first kilometers are on the Drau cycle path, to warm up, so to speak. But at the latest when you arrive in the Bärental, things get serious: the Stouhütte is the starting point for a 700-meter gravel climb, but it's worth stopping every now and then to take a look around. On the alp, lush green meadows, the impressive panorama and the regional delicacies from the kitchen of the Klagenfurter Hütte are inspiring. Be careful on the descent and considerate of the many hikers on weekends.

Start: parking lot Gaston Glock Park Ferlach.
Along the Drau cycle path to Feistritz im Rosental. Continue 8 kilometers along trail 663 to the Stouhütte. And then follow trail 603 to the Klagenfurter Hütte.
