Workspaces | Young Art in Velden on Lake Wörthersee

In the series “curated by_station,” Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp invites you to a special exhibition featuring young art: “Workspaces” highlights the challenges and opportunities of the independent scene in Klagenfurt and opens new perspectives on art, space, and public in Velden on Lake Wörthersee.

The exhibition raises central questions: How do young creatives act in cities and regions where public cultural space is increasingly disappearing? Where are there still free spaces for ideas, courage, and initiative? And how can these artistic spaces be rethought when they are lost? In Velden, the works are detached from their urban environment and open a dialogue about creative spaces, displacement, and opportunities beyond the state capital.

Location: Kunstbahnhof Wörthersee, Velden on Lake Wörthersee

The exhibition is part of the Triennale IV Carinthia 2026 (weak • šibko • debole) on the initiative of the Kunstverein Kärnten and makes visible fragile, precarious, and often overlooked structures of young artistic work.

“Workspaces” invites you to reflect on missing places, necessary free spaces, and the visibility of contemporary art – an inspiring cultural contribution for guests and the Carinthian population alike.
