Sea eye in the Bodental
The sea eye is a dead ice hole created by a glacier during the ice age with a pond in the middle. This natural wonder is located near the Bodenbauer Inn at 1052 metres above sea level and is accessible via a well-secured path. The striking turquoise colour of the water is caused by algae. The formation of the sea eye can be traced back to the last ice age (70,000 to 10,000 years ago), the so-called Würm ice age.
