Wörthersee car-free – Cycling & Skating around the lake

A whole lake without cars: During Wörthersee car-free, the streets belong for one day to cyclists, skaters, runners, and hiking enthusiasts. From 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM, the roads around Wörthersee are closed to motorized traffic – offering free passage against a breathtaking natural backdrop.

In spring, the Wörthersee shows its most beautiful side: The intense blue of the drinking water-quality lake creates an impressive contrast to the surrounding forests. The 44-kilometer route is mainly covered by bike or skates, although many participants also enjoy running or hiking.

The car-free day at Wörthersee is far more than just a sporting event – it is a genuine folk festival with a strong message: sporty, environmentally conscious, and social.
