Indie-Folk meets Dream-Pop.
Black Sea Dahu is a Swiss indie folk band formed by singer-songwriter Janine Cathrein and her siblings Vera and Simon.
The group was active under the name Josh as early as 2012 and released an album.
In 2018, the band name was changed to Black Sea Dahu . The name combines the longing for the Black Sea with the grotesque Swiss mythical creature called Dahu.
They released their debut album "White Creatures" under the new band name with Mouthwatering Records.
Several tours in Switzerland and abroad followed, along with festival appearances. In 2019, they were awarded the "Artist Award" at the Swiss Music Awards.
The songs surrounding the charismatic songwriter of Black Sea Dahu explore themes of love, relationships, and the big and small questions of a fulfilling life in the style of urban folk, and they do so in a poetic and powerful way.
They are supported by the Swiss string quartet, which regularly performs with Sophie Hunger, Panda Lux, or Faber.
The performance continues the artistic engagement with the Klagenfurt Cathedral that began with AVEC, promising a profound concert experience that is both emotional and powerful.
