The legendary Musicbanda Franui and Burg Theater star Nicholas Ofzcarek have joined forces to explore the musicality of Thomas Bernhard's language and present it as a musical reading performance on stage. A captivating interplay of word and sound
Thomas Bernhard's novel "Woods. A Disturbance", published in 1984, centers around a narrator who, from the distance of his armchair, observes an "artistic evening gathering" in the Gentzgasse in Vienna and dissects it with malicious precision. The assembled crowd is waiting for the announced arrival of a Burg actor; moreover, most of the individuals in this society are connected because their friend Joana, who took her own life, was buried earlier that same afternoon.
"A delightful recitation exercise" writes "Der Standard" about the reading by Burg Theater star Nicholas Ofzcarek and Musicbanda Franui, which features one of their specialties that has made them famous across Europe: the celebration of funeral marches and funeral music.
Composition & Musical Arrangement: Markus Kraler, Andreas Schett, Text Version Tamara Metelka, Andreas Schett.
