Son of the Velvet Rat – Red Barn Sessions

Son of the Velvet Rat presents their current program “Red Barn Sessions” in Klagenfurt, featuring songs from the eponymous album and the Ghost Ranch album released in 2024.
Both works were created at the Red Barn Recorders studio in the Californian desert, with contributions from guests such as Marc Ribot, Jolie Holland, and Jay Bellerose, and have received high praise in both Europe and the USA.
The instrumentation is kept sparse and transparent; in the live duo, the band reduces the pieces to their core: Heike takes on keyboards and percussion, while the soundscapes between Neo-Folk and Garage-Rock provide great dynamics.
