On this tour, visitors will discover the art historical highlights of the city of Althofen – from the Gothic period to Historicism. The historic town sits atop a ridge and offers impressive views over the surrounding countryside.

In the historic city center, there are numerous examples of architecture from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. Particularly closely associated with Althofen is the great inventor, baron, and humanitarian Carl Auer von Welsbach. Among other things, we owe him the gas mantle in lighters as well as the brand Osram. The Auer-von-Welsbach Museum is therefore one of the significant sights of the region.

For groups of 20 or more, prior registration is required two days in advance, subject to availability.
