Chicago, 1931: The band “Sweet Sue and the Society Syncopaters” has its last performance in the city before heading to Miami Beach. Before their departure, they need to fill the bass and saxophone positions with the financially broke musicians Jerry and Joe, but the “Syncopaters” are actually an all-female band. Thus, the two musicians become the musicians Josephine and Daphne, who befriend the attractive singer Sugar, leading to highly amusing and exciting mix-ups. The unique warm and cheerful atmosphere captivates the audience with thrilling, jazzy music by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, the songwriting team of “Funny Girl.” The joy of mistaken identities and energetic performance enthusiasm lies at the center of this production. This performance is enjoyable not only due to the humor delivered by the direction but especially because of the formidable cast. Look forward to lively music and captivating dance scenes!
