Star mile Velden - Waltraut Haas
Waltraut Haas (*09 June 1927 in Vienna) is an Austrian actress and singer. She took part in many film and theatre productions and had famous acting partners like Hans Moser, Curd Jürgens, Peter Alexander or Paul Hörbiger. Still today she is remembered as the famous landlady of the White Horse or the Mariandl of the Wachau. Haas was married to the actor Erwin Strahl and still plays in many theatre productions.

She shot here in 1952 - Du bist die Rose vom Wörthersee, 1964 - Happy End at the Wörthersee and 1991 - A Castle at the Wörthersee. In 2011 Waltraut Haas was appointed ambassador for Lake Wörthersee by Mayor Ferdinand Vouk and the Wörthersee Tourismus GmbH. Waltraut Haas spent some holidays in the former beauty farm in Sternbergstraße to prepare for her roles. Waltraut Haas still comes to Velden quite often today.
