Where the lake is at its most beautiful, a small peninsula stretches into the lake, bordered on the left and right by the traditional seaside resort of Pörtschach. Charming villas and stylish lakeside houses bear witness to the fact that people have always lived and socialized here. Gustav Mahler and Johannes Brahms, to name just two artists, appreciated this. Lake Wörthersee also has its charm in the colder months of the year.
