A family-friendly hike in Carinthia, from Bärental in the Rosental region via the Klagenfurter Hütte to the summit of Kosiak (2,024 m). The easily accessible Klagenfurter Hütte (1,664 m) already offers a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks and valleys of the region and invites you to linger. An even more impressive view can be enjoyed from the green roof of the Kosiak in the Karawanken.

From Villach via St. Jakob and Maria Elend to Feistritz im Rosental, here after Gasthaus Lausegger and before Billa turn right into Bärental.
From Klagenfurt via Kirschentheuer to Feistritz im Rosental, here after Billa and before Gasthaus Lausegger turn left into Bärental.
Follow the asphalt road for about 5 km, past the parking lot at the former Stouhütte and on a gravel road for about 2 km to the Johannsenruhe parking lot.

At the starting point of the tour
Directions
From the Johannsenruhe parking lot, head to the Klagenfurter Hütte. Continue along trail no. 603 in the direction of Machtscher Sattel. Trail no. 666 takes you to the summit of the Kosiak. The descent is via trail no. 666 (Franz Zopp Weg) back to the Klagenfurter Hütte, where you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Karawanken. The descent to the parking lot is the same as the ascent.
