Coming from Klagenfurt and Ferlach to Maria Rain as far as the municipal office, park here!

Directions
We walk south from the municipal office along the road to the pilgrimage church. From here we follow the road "Kaiserhüttenweg", which starts at the upper cemetery wall. We turn right at a wayside shrine and after just a few minutes we arrive at the "Kaiserhütte" viewpoint. An impressive view in good weather! The path continues straight ahead on a fairly level path into the forest. After about 20 minutes we come to a crossroads with the sign "Nach Maria Rain", we keep to the right and walk down the mountain. After another 15 minutes we come to the "Bischof Paulitsch Pilgerweg". (Here there is the possibility of a short detour to the chapel where Bishop Paulitsch was born). Keep right at the crossroads and after another 15 minutes you will reach the start of the trail near the former Kirschnerhof inn. From here, turn right up the path to the church or continue straight on to the starting point at the municipal office.
