Der Magdalensberg bildete vor mehr als 2000 Jahren das politische, wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Zentrum des norischen Königreiches und war später auch eine bedeutende römische Siedlung. Heute befindet sich auf dem 1054 m hohen Magdalensberg eine der größten römerzeitlichen Ausgrabungsstätten des Ostalpenraumes. Diese Tour führt noch an verschiedenen historischen Plätzen wie Burg Hochosterwitz, Maria Saal, Kärntner Herzogstuhl (alle Tour 3) vorbei. Am Ende der Etappe wartet noch ein unerwarteter Anstieg, dieser sonst eher leichten Tour.
