Directions

From the power station, follow a forest path slightly uphill through the so-called Bärengraben in a southerly direction until you reach a crossroads after 900m. Keep right here (west, signposted Kleiner Frauenkogel) and follow the forest path slightly downhill to a stream. Shortly after crossing the stream, a path branches off to the left (west) of the road. Follow this through partly steep forest until you reach the forest path again. After a short flat crossing along the path, the trail turns left at the bend along the summer trail through the forest, sometimes very steeply uphill, until you reach a few huts at 1300m. Now the trail is still moderately steep at first, but then becomes steeper and steeper as you ascend through sparse beech forest along the summer markings until you reach much flatter terrain again at around 1450m. Pass an alpine hut and continue briefly through the forest. Walk across beautiful alpine meadows over a ridge to the summit.
