Near Pörtschach is without a doubt one of the most beautiful resting points of the Wörthersee circular hiking trail: the "Hohe Gloriette". The striking rocky knoll with the unmistakable viewing platform not only offers a wonderful view of Lake Wörthersee and the Pörtschach peninsula, it is also the end point of the Brahms Trail with an audible surprise!
The following section to Forstsee before Velden probably deserves the description "over hill and dale" like no other along the route. Deep earthy smelling hollow paths alternate with rooty paths, rocky hilltops with soft fields, narrow damp paths with wide forest paths.
The Forstsee is then the last major highlight of the circular hiking trail. Quiet and romantic, the sun-drenched lake lies on the plateau above Velden and brings a grateful smile to the hikers' faces with the flat trail sections. After a very small uphill section, the path bends down to the Roman Gorge and the destination of Velden. Regardless of whether you take the Wörthersee Circular Trail leisurely as a multi-day tour or master it in one piece during the hiking events, its unique flair, its unforgettable views and the countless enchanting places inspire the people who hike along it in every season!
