Those who take part in the midsummer hike do not want to win a race, but rather view their participation under the motto "The journey is the reward!". Consequently, the motive of "reaching the finish line" and the "shared experience" are just as important to many hikers as a spiritual component. The conscious perception of the changing movement of the sun still inspires many people today and is an expression of an intense connection to nature!

The 30 km half-distance of the Magical Solstice Hike takes participants from the start at the bandstand in Pörtschach via the Hohe Gloriette, Sekull and Forstsee to Velden am Wörthersee. This is also the first stopover in front of the Schlosshotel Velden. The route continues towards Schiefling and past the Trattnigteich pond up to the Pyramidenkogel, where the official finish of the half distance is located. Impressed by the sunrise on the world's highest wooden tower, the route continues downhill to Maria Wörth. There you take the boat back to the starting point in Pörtschach.
