The approach is via Villacherstraße, from which you come directly to Neckheingasse.

Just behind the youth hostel in Neckheimgasse in Klagenfurt, the pilgrim crosses Villacherstraße and now follows Tarviser Straße, which runs parallel to the Lendkanal, to the right, heading east. Before you reach the city center of Klagenfurt, turn left into Lerchenfeldstraße at the Johanneskirche church, follow it north to Aichelburg-Labia-Straße and continue to Feldkirchnerstraße. Follow this road out of town until you reach Mageregg Castle. Here you walk along the cycle path in Mageregger Straße, which runs in a large curve to the right, for around 400 m to the east and, after crossing the Glan at a bridge, turn immediately left into Milesistraße and continue along the cycle path parallel to the Glan to Karnburg and from there on towards Maria Saal. Shortly before Maria Saal, leave the cycle path to the right, cross the old main road and head uphill via Ratzendorf and the Seiserweg to the pilgrimage church of Maria Saal.
