Equipment recommendations for the Wörthersee Ultra Hikes

These equipment recommendations are not only well-intentioned advice from our hiking experts to be well prepared for the ultra hikes, but above all to arrive safely at the finish line.

For this reason, individual items of equipment are also an obligatory part of the hikes. Please read the obligatory equipment list carefully, so that you can help us in case of an emergency. In this way you will not only help to be well equipped yourself in an emergency. Above all, you will help to support others in the hopefully never occurring case of an emergency situation. Equipment tips for the Wörthersee autumn hike on 26 October

Compulsory equipment for all ultra hikes on Lake Wörthersee Nothing forgotten!

The following equipment is mandatory to be carried at each of the Wörthersee hiking events. With the purchase of the participation ticket, each hiker expressly agrees to our general terms and conditions for hiking events. These terms and conditions will be signed at the accreditation on the event day and thus confirmed by the participant.

 

These items are mandatory to carry on all ultra hikes:

  • Headlamp
  • First aid kit
  • Emergency aluminum blanket
  • Rain jacket, rain pants
  • Insulating jacket to wear underneath
  • charged cell phone
  • GPS device to announce the GPS coordinates in case of emergency (can also be the cell phone!)

 

TIP: Query GPS data with your cell phone via What's APP.

Recommended equipment

The magical solstice hike

  • Footwear with a grippy sole (hiking boots, trail shoes)The hike takes place in any weather!
  • shorts and t-shirt for during the day (it can be very hot!)
  • walking sticks (there are partly very slippery passages)
  • personal snack & snacks
  • water bottle (make sure you re-hydrate)
  • sunscreen
  • headgear and sunglasses
  • change of clothes
  • Cash for possible stops
  • Foot balm and blister plaster / tape

62km Lake Wörthersee EXTREM

  • insulated, winter-proof hiking boots with non-slip soles and possibly gaiters in snowy conditions
  • trail running shoes or hiking boots for snowless conditions
  • long underwear and a change of underwear
  • hat and gloves
  • sunscreen, lip balm and sunglasses
  • walking sticks (there are some very slippery passages)
  • personal snack
  • thermos flask
  • Cash for possible stops
  • foot balm and blister plaster / tape
