Never before has Commissioner Dupin been as happy to have a new case as he is on this splendid early summer day. However, not in the sea, but in a tub of chocolate.

What appears to be curious turns out to be a cold-blooded murder of the owner of an established chocolate confectionery in the Ville Close. Who had it in for the visionary entrepreneur who was always looking for new refined creations? And are more people in danger? To get to the bottom of the dark riddles of the chocolate world, Commissioner Dupin and Nolwenn, his irreplaceable assistant, embark on a fast-paced road trip through Brittany to the Basque Country.

Jean-Luc Bannalec is the pseudonym of Jörg Bong. He is based in Bonn and the southern Finistère. The crime series featuring Commissioner Dupin has been adapted for television and translated into numerous languages. In 2016, the author was awarded the title of "Mécène de Bretagne" by the Brittany region. Since 2018, he has been an honorary member of the Académie littéraire de Bretagne. Most recently, he received the HomBuch fair award for German-French relations and honorary citizenship of the city of Concarneau.

The Parkcafé Villach in the former Parkhotel – built in 1910 and 1911 – has always been a meeting point for Villach society. The five-story building of the Parkhotel in the turn-of-the-century style could just as well stand in Vienna. The stylish structure combines nostalgia, a living room atmosphere, modern bar feeling, and freedom on the sun terrace in the midst of Villach...
