From the parish church in St. Jakob im Rosental, the PIlgerweg leads westwards via the village of Töschling to St. Peter. Past the church of St. Peter, you reach a wayside shrine, where you turn left onto the B85 main road. Cross the main road to the west and turn onto a field path towards St. Johann at an electricity pylon. Soon afterwards you cross the local road of Goritschach and follow a gravel path through a farm to St. Johann and on to Raun. At the crossroads after Raun, keep left, walk along Mittagskogelstraße under the highway and a little later turn right into Humweg in Pirk. Following this and a forest path, you pass the St. Christof am Hum branch church and then keep left at a crossroads and continue to St. Martiner Straße. Here you turn right into the road and after around 150 m you reach some hiking trail signs. Follow the signs to the left (yellow sign), walk along a forest path (be careful! the path is sometimes overgrown!) and then along the cycle path to the church in Petschnitzen (St. Jakob im Rosental - Petschnitzen: approx. 10.5 km). The pilgrims' path now leads past the church via the Panoramaweg to Taborstraße. Turn left here and walk downhill to the Hotel Sonnblick. At the hotel, turn right uphill and follow a forest path to the branch church in Egg am Faaker See (Petschnitzen - Egg am Faaker See: approx. 3 km). Keep to the west, cross the Egger Seeuferstraße road, turn into the Marterlweg path and hike to the so-called Egger Marterl (lookout point). At this fork in the path, keep left and follow the Drobollacher Seepromenade to Kohlstattstraße, which you turn left into. After just 100 m, leave the road to the right and walk along the southern slope promenade and continue along a wide forest path, past the Josefikreuz, until you reach the B 84, Faakersee Straße, after around 3 km just before Maria Gail. Follow this road downhill to the left and after a few minutes turn left again into Anton-Tuder-Straße, which leads through the middle of Maria Gail back to the B 84. (Egg am Faakersee - Maria Gail: approx. 6.5 km). Here you turn left onto the main road, cross the Gail bridge, then turn left onto the footpath and walk under the main road via Technologieparkstraße into Villach. Cross the Drau at the red bridge and then keep left and follow the course of the Drau promenade. When you reach the Kreuzkirche church, turn left along the banks of the Drau, then turn right 50 m further on through the park to Gerbergasse and finally reach the parish church of St. Jakob in Villach via Hausergasse and Khevenhüllerstraße (Maria Gail - Villach St. Jakob: approx. 6 km).
