Romy Fölck was born in 1974 in Meißen and studied law in Dresden after the fall of the Berlin Wall. After her second state examination in law, she went into business and began writing crime novels part-time. In 2012, she quit her job and her apartment in Leipzig and moved with her husband to a house in the picturesque Elbmarsch, northwest of Hamburg. Here she came up with the idea for her successful Elbmarsch crime series, all six volumes of which were on the Spiegel bestseller list for weeks. Since 2022, she has also been writing nature-writing novels with depth for the Rowohlt-Wunderlich publishing house, which have also been a great success with audiences. In March 2026, Romy Fölck’s first psychological thriller “Five Strangers” was published by Lübbe Verlag, debuting at number 3 on the Spiegel bestseller list. In addition to her writing work, Romy Fölck is committed to fostering young writing talents.
