A tribute to the artist Johanna Schönborn
In the spirit of Johanna Schönborn, this exhibition can be a contribution to the “ … not forgetting how to look and not forgetting to see.”
In harmony with the unique architecture of the town tower of Gmünd, the exhibition presents a selection of works that illuminate different aspects of her creations. Her paintings provide insights into a lifelong engagement with her birthplace and youth. Born in Gmünd in 1935, she moved to Vienna in 1958, where she was a student of Wotruba, Leinfellner, and Otto Eder. In 1980, she was awarded the Theodor Körner Prize, and in 1988 the ORF Poetry Prize.
The works of Johanna Schönborn are provided by the Kohlmayr family from Gmünd.
In collaboration with the municipality of Gmünd, the Kohlmayr family, and the Pankratium Gmünd.
