A tour de force on the hardest dance floor in the world – unflinchingly and tactlessly between Johann Strauss and Richard Lugner: On behalf of the Rabenhof Theater and Johann Strauss 2025, Stefanie Sargnagl attended the Vienna Opera Ball in February 2024. Her experiences there with the rich and powerful are encapsulated in a text that finally reveals to us ordinary mortals the unvarnished, complete truth about the so-called highlight of the ball season.

The author observes brilliantly, and the personified floral decoration sees them all – the rich, the beautiful, the important. As the performance progresses, the stage set opens up further and allows deeper insight into the souls of the ball guests.

The piece by Stefanie Sargnagl, directed by star director Christina Tscharyiski, impresses with a magnificent ensemble and lively live music by Saló.
