The Millstatt monastery is one of the most important estates in all of Carinthia. Porcia Castle in Spittal is considered one of the most important Renaissance buildings in all of Austria. Wernberg Castle is situated on a dominating hill above the Drava River and also includes a guesthouse, run by the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood. Lake Faak was the site of the 1987 World Cycling Championships, with the Austrian 4-man team finishing 3rd in the 100 km time trial.
