From the southernmost town in Austria, the gunsmith town of Ferlach, we bike along the state road past the idyllic little Waidischer See lake into the high valley of the mountaineering village of Zell/Sele. With enough reserves - either in the legs or in the battery - we climb the Koschutahaus, the highest point on this loop. Be careful when descending the unpaved toll road. Via Zell-Freibach, the tour continues along the turquoise blue Freibacher Stausee to the barrel-tying community of St. Margareten i.R.. Here we meet the Drau cycle path, which has been awarded 5*, and cycle along it upstream back to our starting point.

First, leisurely along the main road in the direction of Zell, through Waidisch, continue on the asphalt road to the beginning of the high valley of Zell. Turn right here and follow the toll road (gravel) for about 300 m to the Koschutahaus. Here the highest point of the tour is reached at 1,280m.
Back again on the toll road to the junction with the state road, here turn right to Zell-Pfarre, continue to Zell-Freibach. Pass the Freibacher reservoir to St. Margareten. Here in the middle of the village turn right in the direction of Trieblach/ Draubrücke. Descend in serpentines, at the crossing turn right again to the bridge. Directly before the bridge turn left onto the Drau cycle path back to Ferlach.
