Klagenfurt ist die Hauptstadt des südlichsten österreichischen Bundeslandes, Kärnten. Die Schönheit dieser Stadt ist vielfältig. Sie wird nicht umsonst das „Renaissance-Juwel am Wörthersee“ genannt. Vorwiegend italienische Baumeister prägten die 800 Jahre alte Altstadt mit ihren hervorragend restaurierten Renaissancebauten, ihren Innenhöfen, ihren Plätzen.

Kulturreisende kommen in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee voll auf ihre Kosten: Ob Literatur, Museen, Galerien, Schlösser, Kirchen – die Geburtsstadt des Welt-Romanciers Robert Musil und der Schriftstellerin Ingeborg Bachmann, bietet ein abwechslungsreiches Kulturangebot. Das im Jugendstil erbaute Stadttheater Klagenfurt begeistert z.B. rund ums Jahr mit Produktionen verschiedenster Genres.

Aber die Stadt ist nicht etwa Museum, sondern beliebtes Einkaufszentrum. In den sorgfältig historischen Passagen und Arkadenhöfen befinden sich Boutiquen und Geschäfte, Cafés, Restaurants und Bars.


Altstadtwanderung

Jeden Freitag und Samstag können Sie kostenlos an einer geführten Altstadtwanderung durch Klagenfurt teilnehmen. Treffpunkt ist jeweils um 10 Uhr vorm Tourismusamt am Neuen Platz.
