KLEMENS MARKTL "American Quartet" feat. TIM ARMACOST

The renowned drummer, composer, and bandleader Klemens Marktl presents his new project “New York Xperience”. It stands for acoustic jazz at the highest level – with energetic swing, sophisticated grooves, and intense improvisation.
On board is the Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tim Armacost, one of the most sought-after soloists in the Downtown scene. Marktl and Armacost are connected by a long-standing musical partnership that has seen them perform on stage in legendary New York clubs like the Smalls Jazz Club and the Kitano. Their joint album “Xperience” was released in March 2024 on ATS Records.
At the piano shines none other than Dave Kikoski, who has been influential in the modern “New York Sound” for decades and is known from bands ranging from Roy Haynes to the Mingus Big Band.
The ensemble is completed by Doug Weiss, one of the most versatile bassists on the international scene.
The formation combines musical depth with stylistic openness and brings fresh impulses from the pulsating New York jazz world to European stages.
