This sporty e-bike tour connects two of Carinthia's most beautiful lakes, Lake Wörthersee and Lake Ossiach. Lake Wörthersee is the largest lake in Carinthia and Lake Ossiach is the lake with the most fish in Carinthia. The Ossiacher Tauern are a mountain ridge between Lake Wörthersee and Lake Ossiacher See, also known as "The Little Tauern".

Take the A2 or B 83 to Velden. The tourist information office is located at Villacher Straße 19.

Directions

From the tourist information office in Velden, the route leads to the Drau cycle path and on to just before Villach. Continue along the Treffner Bach stream to Lake Ossiach. Follow the Ossiacher See cycle path to Ossiach. A visit to Ossiach Abbey is well worthwhile here. Now the ascent to the Ossiacher Tauern begins. Up to the Ossiacher Tauern pond it is a sporty ride. From Ossiach, you now have to conquer around 400 meters in altitude, hairpin bend after hairpin bend. At around 1000 m above sea level, you cross the Ossiacher Tauern. The route continues to the horse stud farm and the small Tauern church on the idyllic high plateau. Now it's downhill for a while before a final short climb to Alpen and the Tauerneck. From here it's all downhill via Laas, Köstenberg, Unterwurzen, Oberjeserz and Kranzelhofen to Velden.
